Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a cost effective quality service, personalized for people over the age of 60. The Lodge on Lafayette fosters independence, individuality, health and physical security for our tenants while preserving a quality and dignity of life, nurturing of the spirit and allowing choice of different services and lifestyles.

About Us

The Lodge on Lafayette is a 10 unit independent living facility which opened in 2001. The Lodge is attached to Rose Haven Nursing Home, a 60-bed skilled nursing and intermediate care facility.

Tenants at the Lodge receive the benefit of a 24/7 nurse call system and an attendant to assist them from 7 am to 7 pm.

The Lodge’s staff is led by Jalissa Winn, Administrator of both Rose Haven and the Lodge and Holli Welsh, Director of Nursing and Tereni Kepler, Business Manager. Providing support is Dale Gerard, Maintenance Supervisor and Mike Curry, Dietary Manager.

Meet Our Team

Jalissa Winn

Administrator

Jalissa began working at Rose Haven in 1998 as a CNA, she served many roles while here, including CNA, Medication Aide, Activities Assistant, Director of Services at the Lodge, and Social Service Consultant. Jalissa graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005 with a Bachelors in Family Services and then continued on at Des Moines Area Community College to graduate with a Certificate of Specialization in Healthcare Administration in 2007. She left Rose Haven in 2008 to gain experience and knowledge, and then returned to Rose Haven as administrator in November of 2017.

Tammy Gehring

Lodge Manager

Tammy joined The Lodge in 2015. She grew up in the area, graduating from HLV in Victor. She attended Kirkwood Community College and has extensive experience in customer service. She enjoys spending time with our tenants and helping them with their daily needs. Tammy and her husband live in Marengo and have two daughters.

Holli Welsh

Director of Nursing

Holli became Director of Nursing in 2007. She started at Rose Haven in 1995 working as a CNA and a floor nurse. In 2002 she became the facility’s MDS Coordinator, overseeing care plans for the residents. Holli graduated from Southwestern Community College in 1995 as a Registered Nurse.

Andrea Moncada

Assistant Director of Nursing

Andrea was appointed the assistant director of nursing in 2016. She started at Rose Haven in 1999 as a CNA. In 2015 she took on the role as MDS Coordinator. Andrea graduated from Kirkwood Community College, where she received her LPN in 2013 and her RN in 2015.

Tereni Kepler

Business Office Manager

Tereni Kepler joined our team as Business Manager in November of 2021. She lives in Marengo with her husband and three children. In high school, she worked at Rose Haven as a CNA. Tereni has a Master of Business Administration from Upper Iowa University.

Cathy Essick

Director of Marketing

Cathy is a graduate of HLV Community School and graduated from Mount Mercy University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Marketing. She has worked in customer service, graphic design, sales and marketing prior to joining Brooklyn Community Estate. Cathy and her family live on a farm near Ladora.

Dale Gerard

Maintenance Supervisor

Dale is our Maintenance Supervisor for Rose Haven and the Lodge on Lafayette. He is a lifelong resident of Marengo and bring extensive knowledge of maintenance and HVAC systems.

Mike Curry

Dietary Manager

Mike supervises the Dietary Department for Rose Haven and the Lodge on Lafayette. Born and raised in Marengo, Mike’s experience running restaurants and creating delicious menus has been a huge asset for our residents’ diets.
